Mise En Scene

In this Lesson we were told  to take four-five images with the themes of "Gangster"/"Action"/"Family" and "Thriller".I worked with Arman Ali and Faris Rahman

In this blog  I will analyse the best and worst images and I will explain the Mise-en-Scene in each picture

This first image has the theme of "Gangster" and in this image you see a person with a dark hood on which makes him seem dark and mysterious, it makes you wonder what is going to happen.  The area that we have chosen for this image is perfect because the location we have chosen is perfect for the situation because having the person being near a parking lot makes you wonder why he is there in the first place, which adds some mystery to the image, making you wonder what he is going to do next because you might wonder if he is waiting for someone or planning something, so it leaves the people looking at the image thinking, without giving the answer In this image we have used both costume and location to add mystery to the image.
The second image we took was "Action" and in this scene you see a fight scene going on and using face expressions, it adds emotion to the image such as seeing the anger on the face of the person giving the punch, you can see the aggression in the punch that he gave without actually seeing the fist moving and by looking at the face of the person getting hit, you can see that he is getting knocked out and by doing that it shows the force that that punch had. The location we chose to take this photo suits the situation, because being in a park is perfect because some fights usually happen in wide spaces such as a park so the location was perfect for the image.

The third image we took has the theme "Thriller" and this image I would say is the best image because in the situation a person is being stabbed by a masked man in a  quiet area. Having the location near some bushes and some trees was immaculate for the image and having the killer have his face covered adds suspense and mystery to the image and makes you wonder why he is stabbing the person and makes you wonder who he is. I think the Mise-en-Scene is great in this shot because of the costume and area in the image
The last image that we took has the theme of "Family" but I think that this image is the worst image because the location and props we used was a bad choice for the image because the two people in the image are both wearing ID badges which makes them more look like classmates rather than family, and the location that we have chosen more looks like a school more than a house so it doesn't really seem like  a family, and it might confuse some people that are looking at the image. The Mise-en-Scene in this image could be improved if we chose a better location and if we were not wearing our ID badges, so that it would look more like a family
